Welcome
The Environmental Information & Innovation National Meeting—or E2i—is a meeting for professionals that work at the intersection of information technology and environmental protection. E2i features content on data management, technology modernization, and program innovation. Attendees come from a broad community of state, tribal, and local environmental agencies, U.S. EPA, vendors, and other stakeholders with an interest in improving the productivity and responsiveness of environmental protection.
E2i creates opportunities for environmental professionals to connect with other community members, share their successes and challenges, and learn about innovations in environmental protection. The meeting builds on a long-running series of meetings sponsored by the National Environmental Information Exchange Network and E-Enterprise for the Environment.

What to Expect
E2i is a meeting for professionals from environmental agencies at all levels of government—federal, state, tribal, territorial, and local. Attendees are typically agency managers, program experts, and information technology professionals, but anyone with an interest in building modern and more effective approaches to environmental protection is very welcome.
The theme of E2i is Reinvigorate | Collaborate | Innovate and the agenda will include content that highlights:
Efforts to reinvigorate the Exchange Network and its data flows;
Innovative tools and programs that improve environmental protection;
Telling environmental protection stories through data visualization;
Improving data management processes and procedures;
Applications for Artificial Intelligence in environmental protection;
Experiences in Implementing Customer-Focused Online Services;
Using Open Data, APIs and geospatial data to improve environmental decision-making;
Examples of cross-agency partnerships and collaboration; and
Intersections among data, science, and policy.
The program for E2i is cooperatively developed by representatives from state, tribal, and territorial environmental agencies and U.S. EPA.
